organe déconcentré de la Fédération française des Echecs, la Ligue a pour objet la déclinaison des politiques mises en oeuvre par celle-ci ; elle organise les compétitions fédérales qui lui sont confiées, les compétitions à son initiative, interclubs : coupes et championnats, individuels mixtes, par catégories jeunes et féminines ; elle organise la formation des cadres des clubs, dirigeants, animateurs, entraîneurs, arbitres, etc ; elle appuie toute initiative des clubs et des Comité Départementaux visant à la promotion de nos activités sportives et au développement des clubs ; elle favorise le développement des clubs dans les zones peu peuplées et les quartiers défavorisés ; elle collabore avec les associations sportives évoluant en milieu scolaire, dans le cadre des conventions nationales
