assurer la gestion et l'animation de la maison de Montpellier ouverte à Chengdu, dans le cadre de la politique de jumelage contractée entre ces deux villes, et ce dans le respect mutuel des exigences de la loi chinoise et de la loi française ; susciter l'animation des interrelations aux plans culturel, touristique, technique ,économique ; aider à promouvoir les produits de Montpellier et de sa région, notamment en en facilitant la commercialisation ; promouvoir Montpellier et son agglomération, notamment son histoire, son projet urbain, son dévelloppement universitaire, économique, technologique, son dynamisme culturel, son action en faveur de l'environnement et de la biodiversité, etc ; assurer l'information et l'assistance nécessaire aux habitants de Chengdu en recherche d'informations et de contacts sur Montpellier ; assister de manière réciproque les habitants de Montpellier dans leurs démarches de découverte et d'appréhension de Chengdu, du Sichuan et de la Chine
