réunir des personnes physiques qui s'intéressent à la matière occitane et d'encourager et soutenir toute activité scientifique en ce domaine ; donner des renseignements sur les recherches en cours, les enseignements organisés par les Universités, les colloques, etc ; organiser selon les besoins qui s'exprimeront et les moyens qu'elle pourra obtenir, des réunions de travail pouvant regrouper, autour d'un thème déterminé, les membres de l'association et tous ceux qui se sentiront concernés par le sujet ; organiser périodiquement un Congrès International permettant une confrontation générale des membres de l'association et des chercheurs non membres travaillant dans le domaine occitan ; aider, par la mobilisation des moyens matériels et moraux dont elle dispose, à la publication d'ouvrages scientifiques concernant le domaine occitan
