participer en collaboration avec les services intéressés départementaux ou nationaux, à l'étude et au développement des recherches et connaissances climatologiques, locales et régionales ayant une incidence sur l'économie et sur l'agroenvironnement à l'échelle régionale et plus particulièrement sur l'agriculture et les pratiques environnementales qui en découlent ; rechercher les meilleurs moyens d'utilisation des renseignements climatologiques ou météorologiques pour l'assistance à l'agriculture et la défense contre les calamités atmosphériques mais également en matière d'agroclimatologie, de prévention des risques, d'assistance technique auprès des opérateurs publics et d'information de citoyen ; participer aux observations climatologiques ; diffuser à ses membres, les renseignements, études, données statistiques, résultats d'observation, etc, sous la forme et avec les moyens les plus appropriés mais également à des membres extérieurs, en particulier sur les questions touchant aux politiques publiques des territoires ( occupation des sols, sécurité et prévention des risques, assistance technique, etc), moyennant un concours financier
