assurer la liaison entre tous les diplômés de l'école polytechnique de l'université de Tours (communément appelée Polytech'Tours) ainsi que des différentes composantes lui ayant donné naissance (Centre d'études supérieures en aménagement, école d'Ingénieurs en Informatique pour l'Industrie et école d'ingénieurs de Tours) ; représenter ces membres auprès d'associations liées au métier d'ingénieur et plus généralement promouvoir les diplômes délivrés par Polytech'Tours ; promouvoir ses membres, directs ou indirects, auprès des organismes extérieurs ; à compter de la dissolution de l'association École d'Ingénieurs de Tours-OEuvres Sociales, l'AIPT reprend l'activité de remboursement des prêts d'honneur
